Requena Sausage & Gastronomy Festival Day Trip (Muestra de Embutidos) 8th February

Join us for one of the region’s most popular and flavour-filled festivals as we head to the historic town of Requena for the 31st edition of the Muestra de Embutidos.

The Requena–Utiel area is famous as Valencia’s wine-producing region, but it is also renowned for its traditional sausages. Every year, the town celebrates both with a lively festival dedicated to local food and wine – the perfect setting for a day of discovery and tasting.

Our day begins with a walk through Requena’s old town. Built in a medina-style layout, its narrow streets, former palaces and churches create an atmosphere that can feel more like North Africa than inland Valencia.

We will take a self-guided tour of the Municipal Wine Cellars (with multilingual audio guide available), discovering the long history of wine in the city and then have the option of sampling two local wines in a nearby bar (2 glasses of wine per person included).

In the afternoon, it’s time to immerse ourselves in the Muestra de Embutidos Festival. Sample a wide variety of local embutidos, both hot and cold, along with traditional dishes prepared by the Housewives’ Association, baked goods and more included. There will also be time to browse the stalls and do some shopping — a great opportunity to stock up on embutidos and local wines at special festival prices.
