Albufera, Paella and Chocolate Tour

Albufera, Paella & Chocolate

This full-day excursion offers a relaxed and flavour-filled journey through the traditions, landscapes, and tastes of the Valencian Community. Artisan chocolate, authentic paella, and the stunning Albufera Natural Park, it’s a perfect day out for anyone looking to experience the quieter, more traditional side of life just outside the city and return with a full stomach!

Our first stop is a visit to a small, family-run chocolate factory and museum, where chocolate is still made using traditional methods and natural ingredients. During the guided tour, you'll learn about their process and enjoy samples that showcase the rich, handmade character of their unique products.

We then head to the Albufera Natural Park, one of Spain’s most important wetland ecosystems and the birthplace of Valencian paella. Located just south of the city, Albufera is known for its wide freshwater lagoon, expansive rice fields, and traditional fishermen’s huts. It's a protected area and a haven for birdlife, with over 250 species recorded throughout the year, including herons, egrets, stilts, terns, and even flamingos at certain times of year.

You’ll enjoy a peaceful boat ride across the lagoon, offering the chance to soak in the natural beauty of the park from the water. The slow glide of the boat, the open skies, and the surrounding birdlife make this a truly tranquil experience. It’s an ideal opportunity for photography, reflection, or simply enjoying a moment of stillness in nature.

Lunch is a three-course meal featuring traditional Valencian paella as the main course, served in the very region where this iconic dish was born. You will also have the option of trying ‘All i Pebre’, a traditional stew from the area made using locally caught eels (for the less adventurous, other options are available!)

This is a sociable, gently paced day with great food, beautiful views, and a mix of culture, nature and artisan tradition.
